Chocolate Banana Bread

This delicious chocolate banana bread is the perfect recipe to use up those old bananas just hanging out on your counter top. It’s sure to satisfy any chocolate lover.

CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups mashed bananas, very ripe (approx.3 medium bananas)
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Dutch processed cocoa (Iused the brand “Fry’s” for this recipe)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate , or chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar , for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Grease and line with parchment paper a regular sized loaf pan(approx. 9×5).

  3. In a large bowl add the mashed bananas, coconut oil, coconut sugar, eggs and milk. Stir until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, add the chopped dark chocolate and gently stir until the dry flour is no longer visible.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 tbsp of coconut sugar on top of batter.

  7. Bake for about 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Let cool in the pan for about 5 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack, let cool and enjoy.
