These simple Thai turkey meatballs are simple but pack a flavorful punch. They combine many delicious ingredients that create a moist and delicious meatball. Since they are so easy to whip up they are a great and quick dinner option when served with a side but I also like to serve them as an appetizer at a party with my favorite homemade peanut sauce (recipe to come) as a dipping sauce.
Here is how they are made:
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients (using your hands).
Next, form the mixture into meatballs and place onto a baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Quick heads up, the ground turkey mixture will be a lot softer and stickier than meatballs made of ground beef. When I use ground turkey to make meatballs, I either like to wear plastic gloves or I like to very lightly wet my hands with water to prevent the meat from sticking while I form them into meatballs.
Bake, serve and enjoy!

THAI TURKEY MEATBALLS
Ingredients
- 900 grams ground turkey , or ground chicken
- 3 green onions , finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger , grated
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro , finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic , minced
- 1 tsp Sriracha , or to taste
- 1 tbsp tamari , or soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp Himalayan pink salt , or sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- pinch red chili flakes
- 1/2 cup oat flour , see note
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400F.
-
In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients and mix with your hands. Try not to over mix the meat mixture. This will prevent your meatballs from becoming tough.
-
Form the mixture into meatballs. I used about 3 tbsp. of the meat mixture per meatball.
-
Place the meatballs onto a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
-
Bake 13-15 minutes then turn your oven to broil. Broil for about 3 more minutes. This will add a nice golden crust to your meatballs.
-
Let the meatballs rest for about 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
- To make oat flour, simply blend rolled oats in a high speed blender or a food processor until you reach a flour consistency.
